Luxurious & Modern Ships
The vessels in the AMA Waterways fleet are among the best in their class. In fact, their state-of-the-art ships are some of the newest doing river cruises in Europe. There is an Infotainment System in all staterooms, with an available movie and music library and complimentary internet access. Onboard each ship you'll find bars, lounges (with dance floors and daily entertainment), a Sun Deck, Wellness Center and beauty salon. There is a guaranteed share program available for single travelers (staying in category B only). English is the primary language spoken onboard all of their ships.
Spacious Accommodations
Deluxe staterooms are 170 square feet, with hotel-style beds that can be set up as two twin beds or one large double bed. Junior Suites are extra spacious at 255 square feet.
Casual, yet Gourmet, Dining
The cuisine served onboard all of the AMA Waterways ships is excellent. Their gourmet offerings are served in an open seating format,  making for a relaxed atmosphere. Quality wines (included with every dinner) are served with the local, fresh ingredients that make up their food.
What's New for AMA Waterways?
New ships is the hallmark of AMA Waterways during 2011. They're introducing the luxurious 161-passenger ms Amaverde, a sister ship to ms Amabella (which debuted during 2010). Both of these ships have staterooms that average 214 square feet, and have many accommodations that have revolutionary double balconies, which are a full balcony plus a French balcony! During the spring of 2011, a completely redesigned ms Amakatarina will debut as one of the most luxurious vessels on Russia's Volga-Baltic Waterway. This beautiful vessel will offer 10 different stateroom categories, including accommodations up to 432 square feet and 76 balcony staterooms. Another brand new ship, the 124-passenger ms Amalotus, will be doing 7-night cruises from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Also new for 2011 for AMA Waterways is a "From the North Sea to the Black Sea" cruise for those that are interested in a grand tour of Europe and "Melodies of the Danube."
A new itinerary introduced by AMA Waterways in 2010 was "Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of Mekong."
This trip is available in a 7- or 14-nights in length, with the 7-night version consisting of a cruise along the Mekong River. The 14-night option is the same cruise, plus a wonderful land package that features 2-nights in Hanoi, 1-night in Ha Long Bay, 3-nights in Siem Reap and 1-night in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
New for 2009 for AMA Waterways was the debut of two ships, MS Amadolce and MS Amalyra. These beautiful vessels joined ms Amadante (2008), ms Amacello (2008), ms Amalegro (2007), and ms Amadagio (2006). |
