The 90,000+-ton Norwegian Gem cruises year round from New York City. This beautiful ship does mainly does 7-night Bahamas & Florida cruises, and 7-night Bermuda cruises, all round trip from New York. A limited selection of 10-night Eastern Caribbean cruises, as well as a few 1-night Cruises to Nowhere will be available aboard Norwegian Gem on select dates.

While on a Norwegian Gem cruise from NYC you're sure to enjoy NCL's Freestyle Cruising concept, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy the 12 restaurants and 11 bars and lounges that are spread out throughout the ship.

Among the dining options available on Norwegian Gem are the main dining rooms (Grand Pacific and Magenta), 24-hour room service, Blue Lagoon (a 24-hour food court), as well as optional specialty restaurants including a sushi bar, a Teppanyaki room, Cagney's Steakhouse, Le Bistro (a fabulous French restaurant) and many more!

As far as accommodations go, Norwegian Gem offers a fantastic variety of staterooms, suites and villas. Among the many options are inside, ocean view and balcony staterooms, as well as mini-suites, full suites, Courtyard Villas and 3,300+-square foot Garden Villas.

While on a Norwegian Gem cruise you're going to have many entertainment options. For instance, Gem Club Casino is one of the most popular places to be on the ship. Another great area is the three-deck Stardust Theatre, where there is a live performance during each night of your cruise. Those with children should be happy to hear that there's a video arcade and great youth program available on board.

Nickelodeon at Sea
An exclusive partnership between NCL and Nickelodeon, one of the world's most popular entertainment brands for kids, has led to a variety of Nickelodeon-themed features on board select NCL ships. This special program will be expanded to Norwegian Gem in February of 2012. Among the highlights of this program are shows starring Nickelodeon characters (including SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer), new poolside activities and games, meet-and-greets with Nickelodeon stars (with character breakfasts and other fun appearances throughout the ship), as well as exciting trips ashore that have been designed specifically for families.

Bliss Ultra Lounge
This lively area of Norwegian Gem features a four-lane, mood-lit bowling alley, as well as a dance floor, large bar and extremely comfortable lounge areas.

Family-Friendly Accommodations
There are a bunch of inter-connecting staterooms on board Norwegian Gem, allowing families and friends to book multiple rooms next to each other that have doors connecting them (from within the rooms).

Exclusive Villas
On board Norwegian Gem, you'll have the opportunity to stay in one of the award-winning Courtyard Villas or Garden Villas. This luxurious accommodations are very large, can accommodate up to 8 guests (depending on the type of Villa you book), and each have access to a private courtyard. Guests staying in a Courtyard Villa share a courtyard with other such guests, while Garden Villa guests get their own. The courtyards include a private pool, sundeck, fitness center and hot tub. Other amenities include expedited embarkation and disembarkation, as well as a butler to pamper you and a concierge to meet your every need.
