The 2,670-passenger Diamond Princess is a beautiful cruise ship, featuring about 740 staterooms that have a balcony, the luxurious Lotus Spa, and a variety of fantastic entertainment and dining venues.
A 2010 refurbishment of Diamond Princess resulted in the addition of popular Princess staples, including Movies Under the Stars (an outdoor 300-square foot LED screen and 60,000+-watt sound system) and the adults-only spa-inspired Sanctuary, as well as new carpeting and upholstery.
Among the entertainment options aboard Diamond Princess are the Grand Casino (where you can play blackjack, slot machines, poker, roulette, craps and more), the Princess Theater (featuring live performances nightly), The Fun Zone (an area for kids), the Teen Center, and a bunch of bars and lounges (including Skywalkers Nightclub, located 15 decks above the sea, Explorer's Lounge and Club Fusion).
As far as dining on a Diamond Princess cruise goes, Princess' Personal Choice Dining program allows guests to choose between a Traditional (assigned) and Anytime (open) dining format for dinner. Besides the main dining rooms (one for Traditional and four for Anytime Dining), there is also a couple of specialty restaurants (Sabatini's and Sterling Steakhouse), Trident Grill (serving burgers and hot dogs), a pizzeria, the Horizon Court (which is open 24 hours), Ultimate Balcony Dining, as well as 24-hour room service.
Other features available on board Diamond Princess are a few swimming pools (including a swim again the current pool) and hot tubs, the Lotus Spa (featuring a gym and fitness area as well), a jogging track, virtual golf simulators, a nine-hole putting course, an art gallery, 24-hour internet cafe, wedding chapel, duty-free boutiques (featuring designer clothing and gifts), library and writing room. |

Princess Theater
Each night on a Diamond Princess cruise you'll have the opportunity to see a wonderful live performance. Among the possibilities are Broadway-style production shows, comedians, musicians, acrobats, dancers, singers and hypnotists. There are even times when first-run feature-length films are shown in this theater.
Lotus Spa
If you're looking to truly relax, the Lotus Spa is the perfect place to go while on a Diamond Princess cruise. Some of the spa treatments available are body wraps, facials, massages and acupuncture. Also in this area of the ship is a fantastic fitness center, featuring state-of-the-art exercise equipment and various fitness classes (such as yoga).
Specialty Dining
While on a Diamond Princess cruise you'll have the option of dining in one of the ship's two specialty restaurants. Sabatini's is a wonderful Italian restaurant, featuring multi-course meals and a great wine list. Sterling Steakhouse is where you want to be if you're a steak or seafood lover.
