When she originally debuted, Grand Princess was the world's largest and most expensive cruise ship ever built. Today, this cruise ship remains a wonderful vessel, and is a fantastic choice for a cruise vacation.
During the spring of 2011, Grand Princess underwent a thorough revitalization. During this process the ship received a new pizzeria, new wedding chapel and conference room, new tea lounge and library, the addition of deck 6 Window Suites, as well as various upgrades to the casino, Horizon Court and Lotus Spa. Plus, Grand Princess' deck 5 atrium was converted into The Piazza, a popular public space featured on many of the younger Princess cruise ships, and Sterling Steakhouse was converted into Crown Grill.
With over 700 staterooms that have balconies and an entire deck of Mini-Suites, Grand Princess is sure to have the accommodations that you're looking for. Also available on board this ship are interior staterooms, oceanviews, standard balcony staterooms and full suites. The most premium suite aboard Grand Princess are the 775-square foot Grand Suites.
Among the many entertainment options aboard Grand Princess are the Princess Theater, the outdoor Movies Under the Stars theater, as well as the large Atlantis Casino (featuring blackjack, roulette, poker, craps and many slot machines). There are also many bars and lounges on board this ship, including Skywalkers Nightclub (located 15 decks above the sea), Vista Show Lounge, a wine bar, and the Explorer's Lounge (featuring nightclub-style performances).
As far as dining goes, Grand Princess has a number of fantastic options. For instance, there are three main dining rooms, a couple of specialty restaurants (an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse), a pizzeria, ice cream bar, a patisserie, as well as 24-hour room service and a 24-hour buffet. Grand Princess' dining is fueled by Princess Cruises' Personal Choice Dining program, where you have the choice of Traditional (assigned) or Anytime (open) dining for dinner. |
