After her debut in November of 2014, Quantum of the Seas became the latest and greatest from Royal Caribbean. The first of their Quantum-class ships, Quantum of the Seas carries the Royal Caribbean tradition of introducing many "at-sea-firsts." Among these innovations are some brand new stateroom types, exhilarating activities, and even a shape shifting room!
Quantum of the Seas originally sailed from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey until May 2015. Then, Quantum of the Seas relocated to her permanent homeport of Shanhai, China.
All staterooms on Quantum of the Seas feature a view, of some sort that is. Interior staterooms, traditionally without an exterior view, get a bright new face lift with the introduction of "virtual balconies." These staterooms feature a floor-to-ceiling high-definition screen that displays a constant stream of what is going on outside of the ship. It's like having a balcony view! Another new feature is the inter-connectivity of rooms onboard Quantum of the Seas. Guests can combine various categories of rooms into one large villa. An example of this is combining a Junior Suite, Balcony, and Studio Interior into one giant Family ConnectedSM stateroom.
The list of possible activities is seemingly endless on Quantum of the Seas. RipCord by iFly® is the first at-sea skydiving experience. Guests can step into a wind tunnel tube and get the same effects as free-falling from a plane. North Star provides guests with a wonderful view. It's a capsule that's suspended at the end of a crane, 300 feet above the ocean, giving guests a full 360-degree view of their beautiful Atlantic surroundings. For those who wish to stay indoors, there is the SeaPlex. This multi-functional room serves as a basketball court, bumper car arena, roller skating rink, and even dance floor throughout the course of a single day!
Quantum of the Seas is packed to the brim with entertainment options. All entertainment options revolve around three main venues: Two70, the Royal Theater, and Music Hall. Two70 features the most "high-tech" show at sea, with 20-foot-tall and 100-foot-wide digital screens projecting any scene, both real and make-believe. Royal Theater is the home of Broadway-hit Mamma Mia, as well as a very unique musical show by America's Got Talent contestant William Close. Music Hall features live music everyday, with cover bands of hit artists such as The Beatles, Bee Gees, Journey, and Bon Jovi. The best part is that all of these performances are included in your cruise fare!
Dining options onboard Quantum of the Seas are seemingly endless with 18 dining venues for guests to choose from every day, 11 of which are free of charge. For those that still enjoy the elegance of a formal night can enjoy one every night of their cruise, The Grande offers a formal and elegant experience every night. Royal Caribbean has brought on celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, as seen on Naked Chef and Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, with his classic Italian style at Jamie's Italian. Among other options are Wonderland, a new-age feast for the senses, Devinly Decadence at Solarium Bistro, a health themed lite fare venue, along with returning Royal Caribbean staples Chops Grille and Chef's Table.
Prior to her arrival in her new homeport of Shanghai, Quantum of the Seas underwent a number of updates to better acclimate her to the Asian market. This included the replacement of the diner-style Johnny Rockets restaurant with a Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop, the removal of Dynamic Dining, the conversion of onboard shopping options to feature premium luxury brands, as well updated entertainment options.

World's First Smartship
Royal Caribbean is launching into the world of modern connectivity at sea with the arrival of Quantum of the Seas. Guests will experience a whole new level of connectivity never before seen on a cruise ship. All of this technology will be powered by some of the fastest internet to hit the industry. Guests will be able to start their experience at home where they can take care of the entire check in process from the comfort of their own couch. Onboard guests will be able to keep track of their account, reservations, and even get into their room with a simple wristband. Royal Caribbean will wow guests with the first fully robotic bar which will make some of the best drinks at record speeds.
Two70°
A revolutionary concept, Two70° is a multi-level great room that is one of the most iconic venues onboard Quantum of the Seas. The space is aptly named for its magnificent 270-degree panoramic sea views through vast, floor-to-ceiling glass walls spanning almost three decks at the stern of the ship. Two70° seamlessly fuses entertainment and technology to create a transformative journey from day to night. The perfect setting to connect with the sea during the day, Two70° provides a modern and comfortable living room space for guests to sit back and relax. As the sun sets and the lights go down, the dazzling space gradually reveals its evening persona, delighting guests with spectacular, mysterious and unexpected entertainment at night. Unparalleled technology means every show at Two70° is multidimensional and immerses the audience through a combination of live performers, including aerialists, as well as breathtaking video and digital scenery.
North Star
An engineering marvel, North Star takes guests to new heights - literally - with a jewel-shaped, glass capsule, transporting them on a (gentle and) spectacular journey more than 300 feet above the ocean and over the sides of Quantum of the Seas, to deliver awe-inspiring 360-degree views. What an amazing way to take in breathtaking views of the ocean, the ship, and the exciting destinations being visited!

RipCord by iFly®, the first skydiving experience at sea, which allows guests (from first-time fliers to seasoned skydivers) to enjoy the sheer thrill and exhilaration of skydiving in a safe, controlled, and simulated environment. SeaPlex
The largest indoor active space at sea, SeaPlex is a distinctive and flexible sporting and entertainment venue with thrilling new features that will inspire guests of all ages to let loose and connect with their playful sides. Delivering more first at-sea experiences, guests can experience a circus school with flying trapeze, or play basketball on a full-size regulation basketball court. By night, the first-ever bumper car and roller skating offerings deliver fun and excitement. Or, guests can dance to music orchestrated from a floating DJ booth which hovers above the activity below.
The Bionic Bar
Quantum of the Seas has the world's first bar with robotic bartenders. The Bionic Bar's robot arms, named B1-O and N1-C, can turn out two drinks per minute. It took 41,600 human man-hours to make and test Makr Shakr's robotic bartenders.
Solarium
Guests 18 and over can retreat to the glass-canopied, adults-only Solarium pool on a Quantum of the Seas cruise. At this relaxing venue, its inspired surroundings, light-fare café, and whirlpools promise the ultimate in relaxation.
