A purpose-built luxury expedition ship, Silversea's 132-guest Silver Explorer (previously named Prince Albert II), has been designed specifically to navigate through the waters of some of the world's most remote destinations. In fact, this all-oceanview vessel has a strengthened hull with a Lloyd's Register ice-class notation (1A) for passenger vessels, enabling it to safely and easily push through ice flows.

Being an all-inclusive product, gratuities, dining and beverages (including fine wines and spirits) are included in the price of each Silver Explorer cruise. Also included are hosted adventures ashore and special onboard events. During each cruise Silversea will provide a team of explorers, scientists, authors, photographers and destination experts at your side as you explore remarkable destinations.

Guests sailing on a Silver Explorer cruise can make use of the Zodiac boats aboard the ship, allowing them to visit off-the-beaten path locations as Silversea's Expedition Team provides expert insight and understanding of the destination being explored. Guests will be provided with a complimentary parka (on Polar voyages) and water-resistant backpack, adding to their authentic expedition experience.

A butler is available to pamper each guest sailing aboard Silver Explorer. This ship's accommodations are among the largest of any expedition cruise ship, and are appointed with luxurious amenities such as in-suite bar setups, and marble baths with tubs. Many suites also have a French balcony or large private veranda.

With a crew to guest ratio of nearly 1 to 1, each guest receives the exemplary service that Silversea Cruises is so well known for. Dining is open seating and there is casual attire worn on board, creating a relaxed atmosphere during the cruise. In fact, it's so casual on board Silver Explorer, that guests are welcome to visit the bridge during most hours of the day (while the ship is at sea). A convenient dining option is 24-hour room service, with no charge or tipping needed. The gourmet menus available in the ship's main dining venue, The Restaurant, have specialty dishes that are the result of a collaboration between Silversea and their preferred culinary partner, Relais & Cháteaux.
