Things to do in Long Beach

These are just a few of the more popular tourist attractions in or around Long Beach, along with a brief description:

♦ Visit Los Angeles
The Port of Long Beach is located only about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles (about a 50 minute drive, depending on traffic). This makes for a great opportunity to visit one of the world's most diverse, fun and interesting cities. Among the many things to do in Los Angeles are walking along world-famous Rodeo Drive (featuring many upscale boutiques), relaxing Venice Beach (and enjoying the entertainment typically available along its boardwalk) and dining, bar hoping and shopping along the Sunset Strip. A cruise from Long Beach is even further enhanced by being able to spend a few nights in Los Angeles before or after the cruise, at one of the city's many lovely hotels.RMS Queen Mary

♦ RMS Queen Mary
This retired ocean liner was once a member of Cunard Line's fleet of luxurious ships. She sailed for them from 1936 through 1967, and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. RMS Queen Mary is now docked at the Port of Long Beach, and serves as both a museum and hotel. Over the years, there have been reports of ghosts being seen throughout the ship, so there are paranormal themed tours available daily onboard. This historic vessel has been featured in several movies, TV shows and even a music video.

♦ Singing Gondolier Trips
Long Beach, CA is one of only a few places on the West Coast of the United States where you're able to ride in a gondola (similar to those often featured in Venice, Italy). Gondola rides are available through the romantic canals of Naples, a neighborhood in Long Beach.
