Boston Red Sox Legends On Board*
Jim Rice
Hall of Famer (since 2009) Jim Rice played his entire career (1974 to 1989) for the Boston Red Sox. He was an 8-time American League All-Star, and was the American League's Most Valuable Player in 1978. During his illustrious, award-filled career, he led the league in home runs three times, and twice in RBIs. Some of his impressive career statistics include 382 home runs, 1,451 RBIs, 1,249 runs scored, 2,452 hits, and an overall .298 batting average.
Steve Lyons
A Major League Baseball player for nine seasons (1985 to 1993), with career statistics including a .252 batting average, 19 home runs, 196 RBIs, and 42 stolen bases. Steve Lyons is currently a NESN Red Sox studio analyst.
Luis Tiant
A native of Cuba, "El Tiante" played for the Boston Red Sox from 1971 to 1978 (during his 19-year major league career). He's one of the greatest and most beloved pitchers in Red Sox history, and was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997. His career statistics include a 229–172 win-loss record, with a 3.30 ERA and 2,416 strikeouts in 3,486.1 innings. He pitched 187 complete games, and 49 shutouts during that time.
Mike Timlin
A member of the Boston Red Sox from 2003 to 2008, Mike Timlin was a member of the Red Sox's 2003 and 2007 World Series championship winning teams (as well as the World Series championship winning Toronto Blue Jays teams of 1992 and 1993). This former relief pitcher had a 3.63 career ERA, along with 75 wins and 141 career saves in 18 seasons.
Keith Foulke
The man that earned the final out of the 2004 World Series for the Boston Red Sox, Keith Foulke had a 11-year career in Major League Basement included a 3.33 ERA, 191 saves, a 41-37 win-loss record, and 718 strikeouts in 786.2 innings pitched. He was an AL All-Star while playing for the Oakland Athletics in 2003, and was named the AL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year that season.
