Cruises from New York
There are actually two cruise ports in New York, one being in "The Big Apple," New York City (Manhattan), and the other being in the fairly nearby borough of Brooklyn. The cruise port that your ship departs from depends on the particular cruise line, as each cruise line tends to use a specific terminal. For example, Carnival Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Line's ships only depart from New York City, while Princess Cruises and Holland America Line typically (but not always) use the Brooklyn cruise terminal. You should always verify which cruise terminal your ship will be at prior to leaving for your cruise, as you don't want to end up at the wrong one! Being such a popular cruise departure port, cruises from New York are available year round!
