Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line, not to anyone's surprise, is quite popular among families (particularly those with children and teens). However, it is also a great choice for adults since they have a slew of great adults-only areas (such as bars, nightclubs, specialty restaurants, and spa areas). Of the three ships currently in Disney's fleet, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder,  are 83,000-ton sister ships that feature an amazing range of onboard activities for everyone. New to the fleet, since January of 2011, is Disney Dream, the largest (128,000-ton) and most innovative cruise ship ever in the Disney fleet.
Among the highlights aboard each Disney cruise ship are spacious staterooms with split bathrooms, Disney Broadway-style musicals, Disney Digital 3-D movies, swimming pools, youth clubs, nightclubs and lounges. One-of-a-Kind Experiences for Kids & Teens
At Disney's Oceaneer Club and Disney's Oceaneer Lab, children (ages 3-12 years old) can participate in a variety of activities hosted by specially trained, caring Disney counselors. Among the many activities available are Disney storytelling, dancing with Snow White, pirate training with Captain Hook, and even having a slumber party with popular Disney characters such as Goofy and much more. While on a Disney cruise your kids will make Disney memories that will be remembered for years to come. Disney Cruise Line also offers the longest youth program operating hours at sea, so the fun doesn't have to end for kids; and parents can also enjoy a night out knowing their kids are well taken care of and having fun. The kids clubs  are open from 9 a.m. until midnight and provide kid meals (during lunch and dinner hours) at no extra charge. Most other cruise line youth programs close at various times throughout the day and charge an hourly fee per child after 10 p.m.
Teens can hang and chill in their own "teens only" space until 2:30 a.m. with a slew of activities available (like karaoke, video game challenges, trivia shows, dancing and tons more) - all while being supervised by the cool Disney staff.

What's New for Disney Cruise Line?
In very exciting news, Disney Cruise Line will be offering cruises from New York, with departures starting on May 25, 2012. Disney Magic will be doing 8-night Bahamas & Florida cruises, 5-night Canada & New England cruises, as well as a few 2-night Cruises to Nowhere. Beginning September 22, 2012, Disney Magic will be offering a total of twelve 7-night cruises from Galveston, Texas to the Western Caribbean.
New for Disney Cruise Line is Disney Dream, which debuted on January, 26 2011. At 128,000-tons, this ship is substantiallylarger than the already large (83,000 tons each) Disney ships that were previously the sole members of the fleet (Disney Magic  and Disney Wonder). Disney Fantasy, a sister ship to Disney Dream, is going to be released in April of 2012. In all, thisexpansion of Disney's fleet will more than double their overall passenger capacity. The new ships are being purposely built withfamilies in mind, with specially designed areas and activities for each member of the family to allow for both quality time together and wonderful individual experiences. The focus is to provide a setting where families can reconnect, adults can recharge and kids can immerse themselves in worlds only Disney can create.
Since April of 2010, Disney Cruise Line has began to offer Europe cruises on Disney Magic. Among the exciting itineraries are Mediterranean cruises, as well as and transatlantic voyages (where the ship transits across the Atlantic Ocean). The Mexican Riviera is another new itinerary for Disney, available since January of 2011. Alaska, which has never been done before by Disney Cruise Line, will be available starting in May of 2011. In all, these are very exciting enhancements to their offerings, as Disney had only been featuring Bahamas and Caribbean cruises for a while previously. |
