Travel Insurance“Oh, I have health insurance…I don’t need the travel insurance.” WRONG! Many people do not realize that many health insurance companies will not cover you while you’re in international waters or in another country. We sell a comprehensive travel insurance plan, that covers your investment from those unforeseen circumstances that may arise before or during your trip.
Besides the medical, dental, and baggage coverage you get with traveler’s insurance, you also get coverage for cancellation penalties. As long as your cancellation reason is a covered reason you will get coverage. Because of this, we highly recommend that all of our clients purchase travel insurance with their vacations. You never know what might come up: medical problems, natural disasters, jury duty, etc. Our travel insurance plan covers such reasons; please check with us prior to purchasing a policy if you’re not sure of the specific coverage offered.
When booking a cruise on our web site, a travel insurance quote is given online automatically on the payment page (before you have to enter your payment information). If you have already booked online and did not purchase travel insurance at that time and would like travel insurance, it can be added by logging in to your reservation and clicking the itineraries link. Next, select the trip you'd like to purchase the insurance for and click view itinerary. After that, click the add insurance link and follow the instructions.
Those that booked their vacation over the phone can purchase a travel insurance plan by giving us a call.
Optional UpgradesADC Trip Care is an affordable and comprehensive plan, which includes various benefits and services. However, there are a couple of options that can further enhance it. Both upgrades need to be purchased over the phone (they cannot be added via our web site):
Medical Coverage Upgrade: For $19 per person more, you can double your Medical Expense limits and Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation limits, and be able to be evacuated home or to the adequate licensed medical facility of your choice for covered evacuations. Plus, Medical Expense Coverage becomes Primary. This highly recommended option can be added up until 24 hours prior to your trip's start date. New York residents are ineligible for choosing medical facility of choice. This option can be purchased at any point, up until the end of business on the day prior to your trip's start date.
Cancel for Any Reason: This option refunds up to 70% of your trip cost5, if you cancel for a non-covered reason at least 48 hours prior to your departure date. A plan with Cancel for Any Reason coverage would cost 1.6 times the price of the base plan, and would require that you insure your full non-refundable trip cost. If you make your vacation reservation over the phone with us, you must select this option at the same time you select to purchase insurance. Cancel for Any Reason option is only available when you purchase the travel insurance plan provided by Travel Guard at the time the base package is purchased and within 21 days of making the initial deposit on your trip. However, since you cannot choose this optional coverage when booking online, you can select to purchase a base plan online, and then contact us within 21 days of your plan initial trip payment to add this option for you (however, this upgrade cannot be added on once you're within 24 hours prior to your trip departure).
To add optional coverage, please contact us via e-mail or phone (toll free 1-866-214-7447 for U.S. & Canada, or +001-732-970-9142 for other countries).
Pre-Existing Condition Coverage4 The Insurer will waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion up to a maximum of the first $30,000 of Trip Cost per person if the following conditions are met: 1. You purchase the plan within 21 days of making your initial trip payment; 2. The amount of Trip Cancellation coverage purchased must equal the full cost of all prepaid nonrefundable Trip arrangements. The cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Trip must be insured within 21 days of the date of payment or deposit for any subsequent Trip arrangement(s). Failure to do so may affect the pre-existing medical condition waiver; 3. You must be medically able to travel when you pay your plan cost.
