In the cruise industry a "senior citizen" is generally defined as someone that is 55 years of age, or older (Costa Cruise Lines defines a senior citizen as someone that is 60 years of age, or older). Certain cruise lines offer discounts to senior citizens on select sailing dates. A great feature of a senior citizen cruise discount is that not only the senior citizens themselves get the discounts; if at least one person in the room is an eligible senior citizen, the second passenger will also get the discount! Upon boarding the ship, a qualifying senior citizen will have to show valid, government issued, identification for proof of age.
