A $7 million renovation was done to m/s Paul Gauguin, completed in February 2012. All suites and staterooms feature new teak railings on the balconies and new bathroom flooring. The entrance to La Veranda restaurant was redesigned, with refinished indoor and outdoor furniture, and solar shades throughout. Other changes include an expanded casino, a new buffet area in Le Grill, refurbished dance floors, and a new built-in banquette.

The on board atmosphere on a m/s Paul Gauguin cruise is informal and relaxing, and pairs excellently with the five-star service (provided by Gauguines, a local Tahitian group), and gourmet cuisine served on each cruise.
