South Pacific Cruises
A South Pacific cruise offers its passengers access to one of the most exotic vacation destinations in the world. Because of this, a South Pacific cruise is a very popular vacation choice among Honeymooners, experienced travelers and many others. There are tons of things to do while on a South Pacific cruise. For example, you can golf, go shopping, snorkel, or just take in some sun at one of their many white-sand beaches among palm trees.
Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Cook Islands and Moorea are among some of the exotic islands that you may visit while on a South Pacific cruise. Many South Pacific cruises also feature stops in Australia and New Zealand. Of the major cruise lines, currently Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Paul Gauguin Cruises lead the way in South Pacific cruise itineraries. There are a very limited number of cruises going to the South Pacific that leave from the U.S. Because of this, most U.S. residents usually take a flight to Tahiti and leave out of Papeete (the capital of French Polynesia, which is the most common embarkation port for South Pacific cruises) in order to take a South Pacific cruise.
Some cruise lines group Hawaii in with the rest of the South Pacific, including the Hawaiian Islands in their South Pacific cruises. For the cruise lines that feature Hawaii as its own cruise destinations, we've created a special section just for Hawaii cruises.
American Discount Cruises & Travel is proud to offer the best deals possible on all South Pacific cruises booked with us. Backed by our "Low Price Guarantee," and powered by our team of expert travel agents, we're sure to exceed your expectations when booking your next South Pacific cruise!
Highlighted South Pacific Cruise Attractions
The following are just a few of the many things to do while in the South Pacific:
Papeete, Tahiti
The capital city of French Polynesia, Papeete, is located on the beautiful island of Tahiti. Some of the more popular tourist attractions in Tahiti are its black-sand beaches, white-sand beaches, traditional Tahitian dance shows, Marché Papeete (a great public marketplace) and over-water bungalows (for those staying at a resort before and/or after their South Pacific cruise.
Traditional South Pacific Dance Shows
Throughout the South Pacific you'll have the opportunity to go to a show featuring traditional South Pacific dancing. The name of the dance depends on the island being visited (Tahitian dancing, also called Otea, is the traditional cultural dancing of Tahiti, while Hula is the dance of the Hawaiian Islands and Ula is the dance of the Tongan Islands).
Black-sand Beaches
Yes, that's right, black-sand beaches! They're a beautiful site to see and are located on a few of the islands in the South Pacific. Among the black-sand beaches in the South Pacific are Punaluu Beach (located on the Big Island of Hawaii), Lafayette Beach (Tahiti), Waianapanapa Beach (on Maui, Hawaii), Papenoo Beach (Tahiti) and Kehena Beach (also on the Big Island of Hawaii). |
