Lindblad Expeditions

It was in the late 1950's when Lars-Eric Lindblad, known by many as the father of "eco-tourism," began taking adventure travel expeditions. His son, Sven-Olof Lindblad, founded Special Expeditions in 1979 as a division of Lindblad Travel (later changing the company name to Lindblad Expeditions).

Today, Lindblad Expeditions has a growing fleet of small expedition ships, featuring Zodiacs, sea kayaks, onboard Naturalists and underwater cameras. Their ships explore interesting and exotic destinations, such as the Galapagos Islands, Alaska, Egypt, Baja California, the Amazon and Europe. Because of their intimate size, the Lindblad Expeditions in AlaskaLindblad Expeditions ships are able to reach less visited ports of call that larger ships simply cannot get to.

Since 2004, Lindblad Expeditions and the National Geographic Society have joined forces, with a fantastic collaboration that involves exploration, research, technology and conservation, resulting in extraordinary travel experiences for their guests. While on a Lindblad cruise, guests are able to interact with world-renowned scientists, naturalists and researchers, National Geographic experts, and uncover the wonders of nature through the assistance of Lindblad's skilled specialists that utilize state-of-the-art exploration tools. Active explorers that care about the planet are a great fit for a Lindblad expedition.

There's a relaxed and informal atmosphere and dress code on board Lindblad Expeditions' ships. This allows their guests to not worry about dressing up, and just have lots of fun and adventure during their cruise. Because of the casual outlook that Lindblad has, they have no problem being flexible and spontaneous with their itineraries. For example, if there's an opportunity for a special close encounter with nature, they just may modify the day's activities to allow for an even better experience for their guests!

American Discount Cruises & Travel is proud to offer the best deals possible on all Lindblad Expeditions booked with us. Backed by our "Low Price Guarantee," and powered by our team of expert travel agents, we're sure to exceed your expectations when booking your next Lindblad National Geographic Expedition!
