American West, formerly Queen of the West, sails along the beautiful river ways of the Pacific Northwest. Traveling along both the Columbia and Snake Rivers between Clarkston, Washington and Portland, Oregon, guests are treated to green forests and towering mountains. Queen of the West perfectly combines all the old-world appeal of the paddle-wheel with the modern amenities expected in a modern cruise.

Recently refurbished, as of 2011, all staterooms, lounges, and even the galley are freshly renovated with new decor and furnishings. In addition, private balconies were added to most cabins, a library was built on the third deck, and several cabins were converted to singles. Despite the age of American West, these new renovations will give passengers a "new ship" feel when first boarding.

American West is extremely focused on representing the Pacific Northwest in every way possible. During the day passengers can explore the trails of the famous explorers Lewis and Clark, Visit Mt. Saint Helens, and even taste local vintages of wine. For dinner, guests can enjoy freshly caught and picked local cuisine presented in American West's quaint dining room. Finally, after dinner guests can enjoy talks from local experts on topics ranging from wine to history.
