At a breathtaking 225,282-tons, Oasis of the Seas is the world's largest cruise ship (along with its sister ship, Allure of the Seas). You really have to see it in person to truly grasp just how large it is! Royal Caribbean built this cruise ship to take cruising to an entirely new dimension, and they have certainly accomplished this lofty feat.
Among the innovations available aboard Oasis of the Seas is a neighborhood system, which sections the ship into areas that each have their own, unique feel. The seven neighborhoods of this ship are Central Park, the Royal Promenade, Boardwalk, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, the Pool and Sports Zone, Entertainment Place, and the Youth Zone. There are many "at sea firsts" on this ship, such as the first ever zip-line, moving bar, a children's theater, and high diving show amphitheater!
Just a few of the more popular things to do on board Oasis of the Seas are enjoying the huge Vegas-style Casino Royale, seeing a live performance in the three-level Opal Theater and taking a dip in one of the swimming pools or hot tubs. Active guests may enjoy venues such as the state-of-the-art fitness center, ice-staking rink, FlowRider® surfing simulators, zip line, rock-climbing wall, H2O Zone aqua park for kids, adult-only Solarium and full service Vitality at Sea Spa.
There are many dining options available on a Oasis of the Seas cruise. For instance, there's a three-level main dining room, a Johnny Rockets® '50s-style diner, Café Promenade, the Seafood Shack, Park Café, Sorrento's Pizzeria, as well as a few upscale specialty restaurants (including 150 Central Park, Giovanni's Table and Chops Grille). Of course, this is all besides the 24-hour room service, a great option if you're looking to have a snack in the privacy of your stateroom or suite.
Beginning on November 24, 2019, you will be able to enjoy the all-new "Amplified" Oasis of the Seas, as it will be undergoing a 63-day refurbishment. This will be the biggest refurbishment to occur in Royal Caribbean's fleet. Guests will be able to enjoy all new entertainment features, including Laser Tag: Clash for The Crystal City, Ultimate Abyss (the tallest slide at sea!), and The Perfect Storm waterslide trio. New dining options will include Portside BBQ, Playmaker's Sports Bar & Arcade, and El Loco Fresh.
New bar and nightlife additions will include Spotlight Karaoke, Music Hall (where you can catch cover band performances), The Lime and the Coconut Bar (a three-story island-themed poolside bar), and Royal Caribbean's signature Bionic Bar (where robot bartenders mix your drink for you). Among the family-friendly "Amplifed" additions will be Sugar Beach sweet shop, Royal Escape Room: Apollo 18, and Splashaway Bay. |

Ship Highlights
Royal Promenade
Already available on Royal Caribbean's Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships, this neighborhood has been taken to a totally new level aboard Oasis of the Seas. Open 24 hours, the Royal Promenade is the heart of the ship and is filled with shops, bars, lounges and casual dining venues. In this area of the ship is Boleros (a Latin-themed lounge), the Schooner Bar, On Air Club (a lively karaoke bar), the Champagne Bar, Globe and Atlas Pub (a great place to enjoy a pint while listening to some live music), duty-free shopping boutiques, as well as eateries including Café Promenade, Mondo's Coffee Bar (serving sandwiches, pastries and coffee) and Sorrento's Pizzeria. The Rising Tide Bar is the world's first moving bar at sea, as it slowly ascends up three decks to Central Park.
The Pool & Sports Zone
While on a Oasis of the Seas cruise, you're sure to spend a lot of time in this neighborhood. Some of the venues in this area of the ship include the H2O Zone (an aqua park for kids), 4 pools, 10 whirlpools, a tranquil adult-only Solarium (that includes the Solarium Bistro), 2 FlowRiders® (surfing simulators), a sports court, mini-golf, the first-ever zip-line at sea (which is suspended nine decks above the Boardwalk neighborhood), as well as Wipe Out Cafe and Bar.
Central Park
One of the most innovative neighborhoods on board Oasis of the Seas is the open-air Central Park. It's a beautifully landscaped area, with tropical plants and trees that reach over two-and-a-half decks in height! Within this area of the ship is the first-ever Coach store at sea, Vintages (a lovely wine bar), the casual Park Café, Picture This (a photo studio), as well as a few specialty dining venues (including 150 Central Park, the most exclusive dining venue aboard Oasis of the Seas, Giovanni's Table and Chops Grille).
Boardwalk
There's just so much to do in this open-air neighborhood of Oasis of the Seas. For example, there are two, yes two, rock-climbing walls, a full-sized carousel, a bar, the Donut Shop, an ice cream parlor, a candy shop, the Seafood Shack, Star Pier (a teen clothing store that has as Wii game area and DJ station), and a Johnny Rockets® '50s-style diner. Also in the Boardwalk neighborhood of Oasis of the Seas is the ship's AquaTheater, a 600-guest amphitheater where high diving shows (into the largest and deepest pool at sea) and fountain shows take place during each cruise.
Entertainment Place
This neighborhood is home to the largest casino at sea, Casino Royale, as well as Studio B (featuring an ice-staking rink that has shows, and where guests can skate around during the cruise), Dazzles (a two-level dance lounge), Jazz on 4 (a jazz and blues lounge), Comedy Live (a New York-style comedy club), Blaze (the ship's main night club), and the 1,380-seat Opal Theater. Possible performances that may take place at the Opal Theater are elaborate Broadway-style production shows, comedians, musicians, acrobats, magicians and even game shows that involve the participation of volunteers from the crowd. You're sure to spend a lot of time there, especially during the evenings on a Oasis of the Seas cruise.
The Youth Zone
Being an extremely family-friendly ship, Oasis of the Seas has an entire neighborhood that's dedicated specifically to children and teens. In this exciting, huge (over 28,700-square feet) and fun-filled area of the ship are special teen-only areas such as Fuel (a disco), The Living Room (a laid back lounge) and the Back Deck. Also in the Youth Zone is The Workshop (featuring activities such as scrapbook skills and jewelry making), Royal Babies & Royal Tots (Royal Caribbean's first nursery for infants and toddlers - six months or older), Play (an circular open gym and activity area), Adventure Ocean Theater (the first-ever children's theater at sea), and Adventure Science Lab.
Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center
If you're looking for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation while on a Oasis of the Seas cruise, you should certainly consider visiting the ship's full-service Asian-inspired Vitality at Sea Spa to schedule a treatment. Possible treatments include massages, facials, acupuncture and thermal suites. There's even a youth spa on this ship! Also in this area of the ship is a beauty salon and a fitness center, which has 158 state-of-the-art exercise machines, and a nice variety of fitness classes (such as yoga, kick boxing, Pilates and spin classes). Vitality Café, located at the spa's entrance, offers guests healthy snacks, wraps, fruit, juices, smoothies and sandwiches. |
