The 69,000+-ton Legend of the Seas, one of Royal Caribbean's mid-sized Vision Class cruise ships, sails year-round in Asia. This makes for an excellent combination between being able to visit an ancient, exotic and historic land, while traveling in a modern cruise ship that's filled with all of the amenities you may desire while on vacation.
In June 2016, Royal Caribbean announced that Legend of the Seas will be leaving the Royal fleet, with her final voyage in March 2017. Thomson Cruises confirmed the purchase of Legend, which will join the Thomson fleet in May 2017 under the name of TUI Discovery 2.
Legend of the Seas received a bunch of enhancements and additions on February 7, 2013. Among the upgrades were the addition of an outdoor movie screen, R Bar, Viking Crown Lounge Nightclub, a few dining venues (including Park Café, Chef's Table, Chops Grille, and Izumi Asian Cuisine), digital signage, pervasive Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, a nursery, Concierge Club and Diamond Lounge. Legend of the Seas also received new staterooms (including a new Family Suite), and existing staterooms were updated.
There's a seemingly endless number of things that you can do while on a Legend of the Seas cruise. For example, those looking to keep active on their cruise should be happy to hear that the ship has a rock-climbing wall, 9-hole miniature-golf course, jogging track, swimming pools, whirlpools, fitness center and full-service day spa. Also available on board this ship is the Solarium, an indoor/outdoor pool and lounge area that can be covered during inclement weather by a huge glass roof. The 802-seat That's Entertainment Theatre features musical productions and headline entertainment on each night of the cruise. Other features available on a Legend of the Seas cruise include a beauty salon, duty-free shopping boutiques and an internet cafe.
Among the many bars and lounges available on board Legend of the Seas are the Viking Crown Lounge and the Schooner Bar, both which are Royal Caribbean signatures, the Champagne Bar and Anchors Aweigh Lounge (featuring live music, dancing and entertainment).
There are many dining venues aboard Legend of the Seas. Among them is the two-level Romeo & Juliet Dining Room, the Windjammer Cafe (which has a large buffet with a variety of options), as well as 24-hour room service. |
