Search Help
You can select more than one option in most of the form fields. Here are explanations of the search options we get asked about the most often:
Departure Port: If you only want to view results for cruises that start in a specific port, you can
specify it here. You can select more than one (to see cruises that start at certain ports). For example, you can select both New York and Boston if
you only want to view cruises that start in either New York or Boston.
→ In the "Advanced Search"
Arrival Port: If you only want to view results for cruises that end in a specific port, you can specify
it here. You can select more than one (to see cruises that end at certain ports). For example, you can select both New York and Boston if you only
want to view cruises that end in either New York or Boston.
Ports of Call: You can the type name of one port that you would like all your search results to include. For
example, if you type Barcelona all of the search results will include cruises that include Barcelona (even if it's not a starting or ending port in
the itinerary). Be sure to spell the port name correctly!
Max Occupancy: Allows you to view search results that only include ships that have accommodations for a minimum
amount of people per room. For example, if you select "5 and more" your search results will only include ships that have at least one room
type that would accommodate at least 5 people. The pricing that displays on the search results page will be the per person pricing based on a room for
two people. Proceed further in the online booking process to view the pricing for accommodations for a different occupancy.
Kid-Friendly: Shows cruises that are great choices for those traveling with children and teens. Includes ships
with youth programs and/or youth-friendly public spaces. Programs and public spaces are subject to change, at the discretion of the cruise line.
→ Cruise Only vs Cruise Line Tour
If you check the Cruise Only option, you will only see results that are for a cruise vacation. If you check the Cruise Line Tour option, you will only
see vacations that include a cruise + land tour package (also known as a Cruise Tour). Leave both unchecked to view results that include
both vacation types.

Ship Highlights
Al fresco dining aboard Viking Herja
Imagine waking as the mist rolls off the river, stopping in the lounge for a frothy cappuccino, and heading out to the Aquavit Terrace to
silently cruise through the early morning light. That is one definition of a Viking Herja happy hour. Another one is in the more
traditional sense: unwinding in the late afternoon with a pint of beer or glass of wine, chatting with friends and enjoying a delicious
light bite. With the Aquavit Terrace equipped with grills and plentiful seating, each of these al fresco "happy hours" will be
yours to indulge in.
Fine dining aboard Viking Herja
Viking Herja's chefs create a variety of tasty offerings for you, with freshly prepared seasonal local vegetables, European
specialties adapted to satisfy the tastes of our passengers, and homemade soups prepared daily. For breakfast, choose from our selections
of pastries, cereals, breakfast meats, egg dishes, fresh fruit and selected cheeses. At lunch, select from the soup and sandwich bar, or a
choice of entrees and dessert. And for dinner, you are treated to a five-course gourmet menu with regional specialties. You can also
select from our regional wines to perfectly complement your meal. And wherever you sail, you will find enhancements reflecting your
itinerary-it is all part of experiencing the local culture.
Cultural Highlights
To complement your onshore excursions, take part in Viking Herja's immersive learning and enhancement activities both on board
and ashore:
- Hands-on demonstrations in cuckoo clock-making, wooden shoe-carving or glassblowing
- Classes in cooking specialties like apple strudel and Alsatian flammkuchen
- Traditional performances of folk music and dance, or waltzes by Strauss
- Tastings of local cheeses, coffees, liqueurs and other delicacies
These in-depth experiences are included as an essential part of discovering more about the places through which you cruise, and each
activity is planned specifically to illuminate each itinerary.
Culture Curriculum
Sometimes you want to dig a little deeper. Viking Herja offers a series of onboard multimedia talks to shed light on the history
and culture of the places you visit. Learn about:
- Dutch Masters or French impressionists
- Castles along the Rhine Valley
- The formation of the European Union
- The life and works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- Wine and cuisine of southern France
- Key words and phrases in the local language wherever you are traveling
These presentations provide a context for your own observations, enhancing your travel experience.
